“This was probably one of the most happy, fun days I’ve had since my husband died”

What we do

  • Monthly meet-ups

We host a regular Sunday evening gathering for widows in Cambridge. This is the heart of Cambridge Widows, and provides the space to talk and to listen to each other. This is where so much of the magic happens. We have conversations you can’t have with anyone else. We hold safe and welcoming space for each other to show up as we are.

These gatherings are women only and take place usually on the last Sunday of the month at 6.30pm.

In addition, there are monthly meet-ups for our Cambridge Widows Plus group for older ladies on the first Monday of the month at 2.30pm.

Cambridge Widowers hold a drink for widowed men in the pub every other month.

Dates for each month are in our calendar here.

Contact us for more information on any of these meet-ups or to let us know you’re coming.

  • The Widowed Sing

We are proud to host The Widowed Sing, a unique singing day for anyone whose life partner has died, led by professional singing coach Sophie Garner. This pop-up choir in a day brings widows and widowers together to sing and raise money for Hospice Charities.

As attendees at previous choir days have said:

    An exciting and uplifting day.

It was such a safe space to share experiences together - a wonderful group of people

I think you were all amazing and loved Sophie – she’s inspirational and I felt really happy by the end of the day!

The Widowed Sing 2025 took place on Saturday 4th October.

Email us to be put on the list for 2026!

  • Get togethers

Throughout the year, we arrange a range of get togethers, like pub lunches, dog walks, or evenings out, especially at times which can be difficult for widows and widowers such as bank holiday weekends and over the Christmas holidays.

These are open to widowed men and women. Look out for our next ones in the calendar here.
